Life in the house

What life in an Overcomers home looks like

The goal was never just to get you clean. The goal is a restored man: reconciled to God, rebuilt in character, reconnected to family and sent back out to reach the next man.

A safe, sober house

Zero tolerance for alcohol and drugs, random testing, a 10 PM curfew and naloxone in every home. Sobriety is the line that keeps the house safe.

Discipleship

Sunday service and Tuesday Disciple Me at The Good Fight Church, plus Bible study in the house. Seek first the Kingdom, and build everything else on it.

A written plan

Every man fills out his Overcomer Playbook with his house manager: goals for recovery, faith, work, money, family and health at 3, 6 and 12 months.

Brotherhood

We divide the burden and multiply the joy. Brothers who notice, ask hard questions and carry each other. No man fights alone here.

Day 1 to day 365

Early recovery moves fast. We mark every milestone together.

Days sober, drawn to scaleThree of your first five milestones land in the first 90 days.

You review your progress with your house manager at 30, 60 and 90 days, then at 6 months and a year. Every milestone gets celebrated out loud, along with the others that matter: a new job, a debt paid off, a family relationship restored, baptism, graduation.

How it works

How to get a bed

  1. Apply

Tell us who you are and when you need a bed. It takes about two minutes.

  2. Talk

A house manager calls to see if Overcomers is the right fit. If it is, you sign your participation agreement online.

  3. Move in

Pay $210 (the $75 move-in fee plus your first week’s rent), do your intake interview and drug screen, and get your bed, chores and mentor.

  4. Live it

Church on Sunday, Disciple Me on Tuesday, meetings, work and brotherhood, every week.

The Overcomer’s Creed

An overcomer is not a man who never fell. He’s a man who refuses to stay down.

We are men who have been knocked flat by addiction, and who get up one more time than we fall, by the grace of God and the strength of a brotherhood that fights alongside us.

Read the Culture Code

  1. I am not my worst day. My past explains me; it does not define me. Today is the only day my recovery happens.
  2. I tell the truth, especially when it costs me. Secrets are where relapse hides. I bring mine into the light.
  3. I do the next right thing. Not the perfect thing. Not someday. The next right thing, today.
  4. I carry my brother, and I let my brother carry me. We divide the burden and multiply the joy. No man fights alone here.
  5. I answer the challenge: Why not me? If God can restore anyone, why not me? If anyone can build a new life, why not me?

Why it matters

Why a sober home matters

48.5 million

people in the U.S. age 12 and older had a substance use disorder in 2023.

About 1 in 4

people who needed substance use treatment in 2023 received any. Most face recovery without support.

31% vs 65%

Two years after treatment, people placed in a recovery home used substances at about half the rate of people in usual aftercare.

Rooted in the local church

The Good Fight Church in Yukon is our spiritual home. The name of this house comes from that fight: the good fight of faith, fought daily, alongside brothers who won’t let you fight it alone.

Questions

Common questions

Read all questions

Is Overcomers a treatment center or detox?

No. Overcomers is a Christ-centered recovery residence. We do not provide medical care, detox or clinical treatment, and you need to be detoxed and free of alcohol and drugs on move-in day. If you need detox or medical help, talk to a doctor or call or text 988 any time.

What happens if someone relapses?

Overcomers is a zero-tolerance program. A relapse, or a failed or refused test, ends your stay. We love you too much to let one man’s use put the whole house at risk. We will never put a man on the street to fend for himself: we connect him to detox, treatment, family or other housing. Relapse ends this stay. It doesn’t end your story, and many men come back after treatment and finish strong.

Do I have to be a Christian to live here?

Men of any background can apply. Overcomers is a Christ-centered program, so every resident attends Sunday service and Tuesday Disciple Me at The Good Fight Church each week, along with the house Bible study.

Do you accept men taking medication for opioid use disorder?

Yes. Medication-assisted treatment such as buprenorphine (Suboxone), methadone or naltrexone is allowed when it’s prescribed, monitored by your provider and taken exactly as directed. We go over every medication at your intake interview and verify it with your prescriber. Medications are stored securely, and sharing or selling them ends your stay.

Why not you?

Every setback is a setup for a comeback. Apply in about two minutes, and a house manager will call you.
